Genealogical Treasures at NARA-St. Louis

15 April 2024 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm CDT

Genealogical Treasures at NARA-St. Louis

presented by Lori Miller, APG, Military Researcher, lecturer

Boy, doesn’t the NARA-St. Louis Archival facility and NPRC have military files? Why would I want to see them, aren’t they filled with only troop information?

Come find out the difference between the two sides of NARA-St. Louis, how to plan a visit for research, and learn that you might find some unexpected genealogy treasures that can help you in the search for family history in a military file.

Lori Berdak Miller is a military researcher/genealogist located in the St. Louis area. Her love of genealogy started in high school back in the days of Soundex and no internet, to learn more of her dad’s Slovak/Rusyn roots. Combining her proud Air Force Brat blood and history degree led her to start Redbird Research LLC in 2006 to aid in searches at NARA ST LOUIS.

Lori has helped museums, associations, authors, tv shows, military collectors, genealogists and families find answers to their military questions. She recently was filmed in an international documentary showing her work. She also has taught classes for SLIG, IGHR (with Michael Strauss) and lectures for groups and societies.

She is a member of Association of Professional Genealogists, Missouri Genealogy Society, Ohio Genealogy Society, Czechoslovak Genealogy Society International, St. Louis Genealogy Society, Orders and Medals Society of America, International German Genealogy Partnership, a Civil War Roundtable and other local and state societies.
