WWI: Records, Research Methods & Resources

presented by K B Barcomb

This program combines an overview of WWI records & resources, especially those online, with strategies and methods to help you effectively manage and analyze the information you find. A mini-case study then illustrates how these come together to provide you a detailed outline of an ancestor’s WWI service.

KB Barcomb specializes in WWI and WW2 records, resources, and research methodology. Her focus is on understanding the chronology and context of military records, so as to more accurately interpret and analyze their content. She has taught for the Applied Genealogy Institute, the Genealogical Research Institute of Pennsylvania, and the Salt Lake institute of Genealogy. A retired Army officer with over 20 years of active military service, she is also the daughter of two WW2 veterans. KB is a member of the Society for Military History and the Association of Professional Genealogists.
