Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society (AAHGS), Arkansas Chapter – Quarterly meetings are held in a hybrid format in January, April, August, and November in Wrightsville. Research outings and workshops are scheduled during alternating months. There are no regular meetings in July or December. However, in December, an annual Kwanzaa/Christmas Brunch is held. Arkansas Historical Association – holds an annual conference and publishes the Arkansas Historical Quarterly. The website has a directory of county historical sassociations around the state. 416 N. Arkansas Pioneers – Fletcher Library, 821 N. Buchanan, LR (off H & University). Focused on the early settlement of Anglo-Europeans across the state.

ARK-LA-TEX Genealogy Society – Randall Moore Center, 3101 Fairfield Ave, Shreveport, LA – meets on the second Saturday of each month from 1:00 – 3:00pm. 

Baxter County Historical and Genealogical Society – The Heritage Center and its archives are housed at the Baxter County Historical Museum, 300 Bomber Boulevard, Mountain Home, AR. Cleburne County Historical Society – The Historical Society office is a museum and research library. Artifacts and knowledgeable volunteers. open Tuesday-Saturday 10:00-3:00. 102 E Main St, Heber Springs. (501) 362-5225.

County historical associations and societies are listed on the Arkansas Historical Association website.

Genealogical Society of Craighead County General Society meetings are at 2:00 p.m. on the third Sunday of the month at First Community Bank’s meeting room (Culberhouse & Southwest Drive). Virtual programs are offered, too.

The Filson Historical Society – Researchers with Kentucky ancestry will find the Filson invaluable. Meetings are in Louisville, KY, but a few events are broadcast virtually. Its vast collections and historical publications are a treasure trove.

Greene County Historical & Genealogical Society – Paragould, Arkansas. Archives and research assistance for local history.

Midwest Genealogy Center at the Mid-Continent Public Library, 3440 S. Lee’s Summit Rd, Independence, MO. Offers on-site research as well as virtual and in-person programming in genealogy and history.

Ozarks Genealogical Society: The OGS library has a collection of regional and county records covering southwest Missouri. County vital records, county and regional histories, and bound periodicals and newsletters, as well as special collections such as donated family research files, cemetery and funeral home records from Greene County and surrounding areas.
